# 4907. A figural wax seal. Silver-plate on brass. Size: 4.25" tall. Initialed "O.E.D." The cavelier stands holding a sword attached to his hip; over his shoulder he holds part of a cross bow {the end was broken off at some time and lost}. Some wear to the silver-plate. Probably European / late 19th century. Price: $285.00.

# 4964. A fine Desk Folio. Habsburg Era. Austrian Eagle on the cover along with the date - 1875. Leather with brass pierced decoration; enamel (paint) colors. Size: app. 11.25" x 15". Condition: scuffs to the leather consistent with use and age. Original fabric interior. There are no missing brass elements. Price: $850.00.

Silver # 13. A Glass and Sterling Silver Inkwell. Consistent with works of Pairpoint Factory. Size: app. 5" across and 4" tall. Condition: wear to the glass on the underside; the sterling silver lid has several dents as noted in the images, showing use consistent with age. The lid is sterling with Hall marks "G J" which is the Hallmark for Goodnow & Jenks of Boston Massachusetts. There is a hall mark between the letters GJ , but we don't recognize the mark. This ink well weighs 3.5 lbs. It is an attractive and usable inkwell. There are no chips or cracks to the blown glass. The lid is monogramed I believe "A" "L". Circa: turn of the century. SOLD

# 4815. A fine Grand Tour Desk Set. Late 19th century. Silver plate. Composed of a letter opener (6.75" long); wax seal which has never had a monogram (3" long); ink pen to be used with a removable ink nib (7.25" long). Condition: the metal work in in excellent condition. The box: the top is separated from the lower section with the hinges broken; the top has a long crack; the leather is considerably scuffed. This set is possibly English or French, though there is no hallmarks on any of the three pieces. The symbols on each item probably have meaning and might relate to a family of note: dog, crown, cross. Price for the set is: $450.00.

# 4723. A Silver plated inkpot. In the form of an urn. Size: 7" tall; 2.25" footprint. Age: ? probably 19th century. There is a hallmark: "HG" on the footed base. Monogram "E.L.F." Condition: metalwork is in fine condition: the glass ink pot is missing. This item has been sold.

# 4583. A late 18th / early 19th century ink pot. Probably Paris Porcelain. Size: 4.25" diameter footprint. Fine porcelain with hand painted decorations including arrow and quiver, flowers, exotic birds, fruit ( strawberries, plums, cherries) and a musical instrument (a mandolin type instrument). Condition: various restorations and edge flakes as noted. The lid is intact as is the ink pot. No factory ascribed marks. This inkwell has been SOLD

# 4390. A Marble and Gilt Bronze Empire Style Ink stand. Size: 6.5" x 10", on 4 small bun feet. Age: late 19th early 20th century. Two ink holders; pen rests. Condition: no glass ink pots; loss and repair to the marble: red denotes loss, green denotes repair; the marble has cracked along veins; gilt loss to the bronze. Incised on the underside: "A.G. 1602". All in all a very presentable inkstand. Price: $1,200.00.
