# 7123. A rare collection of 12 Viennese Dance Cards ~Ballspenden. Dating from 1876 through the turn of the century. These dance cards are described as mechanicals. Assembled over many years by a couple who visited Vienna many times. As time passed on, the decision was made to sell the collection. The lady wrote a farewell note to the collection: "We have enjoyed having you all these years, looking at you daily gave such pleasure and happy memories reflecting on our travels and who we found each one of you. You were a joy in our home. You were our 'Thing of beauty and a joy forever.' Time has come to part and send you on to a new home/ homes with owners who will treasure and enjoy you as we have. We will miss you." Only 1/3 of this collection have there 'book.' We have had and sold hundreds of Vienna dance cards over the last 40 years, but this collection is very special. We prefer to sell the collection intact. Inquiries appreciated. More than half of these pictured dance cards have been sold.
