Item PAN. Pictured is a rare terra-cotta figural group of "Pan teaching his pupil Olympos to play the Syrinx" Size: approximately. 14" tall with a base of approximately. 4.5" x 6.5". This Grand Tour statue was made at the Chiurazzi Foundry in Naples, Italy and is so marked. Much of their production was bronze. Condition: some of the Syrinx that Olympos is holding is missing. If there were restorations to his left hand, it is not apparent. No other losses or restorations apparent. This figural group is rare, especially in Terra-cotta. Evidence of much hand modeling. Age: between 1880 and 1900. Price: $1,750.00.
