Item Number NPT5. From our extensive collection of Newport Rhode Island books, post cards and Historical Ephemera: A small (5" x 8.25") tourist booklet. Titled: "Newport Illustrated by Sketches with Pen and Camera with a Dictionary of Newport" Published by C.E. Hammett Jr. Printed in 1897 and this is a reprint of a mid 19th century booklet of the same name. This edition uses sketches and photos (new invention !). Condition: terrible: torn outer cover and missing back cover; loose pages and probably some pages are missing toward the back. There are lots of pages however and I don't think much is missing. There are two maps on the inside that fold out and they are in nice condition and are worth the starting price. This is a good Newport Reference Book that is hard to come by. Price: $50.00.
