My partner and I have been traveling to Budapest for the past decade or so and have watched with interest and anticipation the wonderful building known as the Gresham Palace at the foot of the Chain Bridge on Roosevelt Tér. In this site we will show images taken in the last year or so of that magnificent structure. It is our understand that it is to be turned into a luxury hotel. To be managed by the Canadian Four Seasons.We have read that the new owners promise to restore the Gresham's facade as well as the interior's stained glass, mosaics and ironwork to their original condition.Federico Santi

The Gresham Palace (pictured) bears the marks of international Secessionism. Standing by the Danube facing the Chain bridge, its facade is much livelier than those of surrounding buildings (such as the classicist Academy of Sciences), covered with gold and relieves. The two towers especially catch the eye, showing all the signs of Secessionism - lots of ornaments, curved lines.
