Ephemera from The Drawing Room of Newport

The Amherst Chronicle of Everett Swain Pratt of Des Moines Iowa. Offering: A rare and unique collection titled: "The Amherst Chronicles" starting in the year 1896, Everett Swain Pratt assembled over a period of two years, all that was important to him in his College life. Everett attended Amherst College in Massachusetts, was a member of the fraternity Chi Psi. He was a prominent participant in a variety of social, scholar and athletic organizations. This compendium chronographs two years of his life at Amherst. In over 100 pages, there are hundreds of pieces of ephemera including programs, tickets, dance cards, photographs, clippings, train tickets, admission stubs, invitations, etc. to the events that were important to him. Names on cards include among many, many others: Miss Alice T. Lord, Mr. Frederick Parker Trask, Miss Himebough, Mr. Benjamin K. Emerson, Mrs. Emmett O'Neill, Miss Lucy Evelyn Sinclair, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill E. Gates. Programs, events, etc. from other colleges include Smith College, Williams, Dartmouth. Everett Swain Pratt graduated in 1897. Condition: no outer cover, pages loose with fraied edges, some documents, programs clipping not attached. The value of this collection is priceless; the cost is $2,500.00.
