#7214. An American Egyptian Revival Monumental Book Cabinet. c. 1839-49. Mahogany and the bonnet is flambe mahogany. Bronze mount depicting "Ancient Egyptian Winged Sun Disk (Behedeit) Iconic symbol of Divinity, Royalty and over-arching protection." Size: 103" wide and 106" tall. Comes apart in four section. Condition: locks removed, scuffs and minor veneer losses. Possibly made for the local Masonic Temple (corner of Church and School Streets). Recently removed from a home where is was installed over 100 years ago. Inquiries appreciated.
