# 7040. An Edwardian travel case: "Tea for Two" Designed by Dr. Christopher Dresser. Made in England and sold through Leuchars and Son and Geffroy Succes, Paris (so marked on the underside). Late 19th century. This gold gilt on silver metal consists of 2 teapots, tea caddy, creamer thermos, creamer, sugar bowl, burner with stand, 2 spoons, tongs, 2 Royal Worcester tea cups and saucers, tea strainer. The leather covered box is 7.5" x 11.25" x 6". Condition: the right side of the leather handle is broken away from the box; there are multiple scuffs to the leather surface. This traveling set was used for carriage and later for automobile journeys. Rarely does this set with its highly gilt finish come on the market. The condition of this set appears that it was really never used. The cotton wadding in the burner appears unused! Price: inquiries welcome.
