# 5693. A fine and rare presentation Trophy made by Englishman Benjamin Gignac. English Hallmarks on the underside and on the lid edge. Hallmark date (r) for 1752-53. Inscribed: "The Gift of the Lord Major & Court of Alderman to ________ ________ (Sir Richard Adams) upon his being Made a Baron of the Exchequer and Resigning the office of Recorder of the City of London 1753". Size: 13" across x 14.5" tall and has a base of 5.5" and the urn opening is 7" across. The inside and outside is gilt and in excellent condition. No dents scratches of note or repairs or alterations to the piece. The recipient name was removed (Sir Richard Adams) probably because when it was sold years ago, the family requested that the name be removed. This piece weighs 7 lbs. Price: $29,500.00
