# 5364. A Secession era Pan Form 'lamp'. Form # 6236 dating this form 1901. Size: 10.1" x 8.7" x 5". This form was modeled by Lajos Mack and was first exhibited in Darmstadt in 1901. The glaze is a pale slightly streaked green with ochre undertones. We have had this form a few times over the years and this one seems to be more crisp showing details, especially the muscles of the pan figure. The form was created to be a lamp; however this particular example, though it does have the interior cup, could not have been fitted for electricity: there is not hole in the interior cup for the electric cord to exit and the base has no indentation for the cord to exit the base. This example does not have the acorn mark for Lajos Mack. This may be a singular example of the Pan Lamp form that is not a lamp. We know of no other such example. Round raised Zsolnay Factory mark and incised form number 6236. Condition: interior under edge base flake. Price: $9,500.00.
