# 5255. A pair of She Devil Bat Andirons. Cast Iron - Size 19" tall with a base stand 9" across. The female Devil Bat with truncated wings and mouth open stands on inner facing paw feet. Very heavy cast iron. Circa 1900-1910. These andirons have not been on the market for over 30 years. An unusual and very uncommon form. Probably American. Condition: on shank is broken where it attached to the back of the andiron; rust showing through old black finish; the white painted eyes appear to be original. Consistent with Arts and Crafts style decorative arts. No markings what so ever on the metal. On Hold.
