Collage in the style of Jess
# 5168. A Collage on stiff cardboard. Pre-1960. Size app. 19" x 23". Condition small loss to one of the applied decorative elements. Contemporary and in the style of works by Jess. Burgess Collins was born in 1923 and created what he called "paste ups" staring in 1951. This particular work came down from the estate of Richard Banks. Banks lived in New York, Newport and Palm Beach and was well know in the artistic community with close friends and acquaintances in New York City. This work is titled on the back : " the road to heaven is a long hard road". There is a signature on the lower front border in pencil that we cannot make out. Inquiries.
