# 5152. An American Walnut 'console' table. Originally this was a lecturn. It is finished on the front and sides with the back exposing the interior rough construction. Top size: 21" x 43" x 34" tall. Condition: there is a square hole app. 1.5" in the center where the support for the lecturn went into the top. There are minor chips to the base and a split in the center above the gothic arch. The style is American Modern Gothic and dates from between 1875 and 1885. Probably from a church. This form of furniture is uncommon and rare: there was only one in each church of that era construction. Very heavy and well made. Quite suitable as a console table and the hole in the center of the top is perfect for an electric lamp cord. Price: $1,750.00.
