# 5114. A Pair of early 19th century Wine Coolers. Each hallmarked in the underside. Sheffield: Copper with double layers inside and outside with silver. The hallmarks seem to be French though we are not sure. The hall mark includes the word: "Double" with the initials "F: J" also there is a star with rays. We could find the word "Double" in a reference book that lists French Silver plate marks. We really don't know where these wine coolers were made but presume that some ebay viewer will know what they are looking at. Size: the foot is 5.25" across; app. 8.5" tall; 9.5" wide at the handles; the interior can is 4.25" across and 5.25" deep. Condition: some wear through the silver to the copper on the edges; one cooler has a dent in the base and the other a dent in the cover 'lid'. The handles have a shell and leaf decoration. The interior metal cans are intact and appear to be consistent with the age of the rest. Price: $3,850.00 the pair.
