The John & Rico Collection of

Antique Porcelain from The Drawing Room.

# 5084. A Parian Porcelain Pitcher. Circa 1853. Marks: United States Pottery Company, Bennington, Vt. Size: 10" tall. This is the largest size of this form. The pitcher design called "Cascade" represents Niagara Falls with waterfall, trees and rocks. Probably used on the dining table for iced water. Many American museums display this form as representative of American porcelain arts of the mid 19th century. The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City received such a pitcher in 1947 as a gift from Dr. Charles W. Green. Condition: an interior very small edge flake. Price: $1,250.00.
