# 5039. Pictured is one of a pair of American Gothic Cast Iron Parlor Stoves. Manufactured by A.C. Barstow & Co. of Providence Rhode Island. Circa 1850. Size: 29" wide x 17" deep and 25" tall. The back vent hole is 5" in diameter and the bottom of the hole is 18" from the floor. In the mid-19th century there were hundreds of cast iron foundries manufacturing items such as stoves. This company founded by Amos Barstow in Providence was located on Point Street and survived into the late 19th century designing many innovative wood and coal stoves and eventually larger furnaces. Condition: crack in the front Gothic center 'door'. Often, these type of stoves are purchased by customers who use them for period decorations for a restoration. We have two identical stoves in stock. The other stove is in very rusted condition and must be sandblasted. The price for the better of the two is $795.00 and the rusted model is $250.00.
