THE ZSOLNAY STORE
Item number 4697. Zsolnay Cachepot. Designed by Armin Klein. Age: c. 1880. Size: 8" tall, 15" across at it's widest, 12" opening, 9" footprint. Four sided panels (each panel is 8" tall by 9.5" at its widest) depicting traditional Klein images: Renaissance-Style decorations and figures. Mark: standard blue Zsolnay Factory mark of the era. No form number. Condition: Glaze line (showing inside and outside the cachepot from the top down one of the panels about 4", glaze lines apparance in two other areas toward to center body of the cachepot. Overpainting to the area of the edge glaze line which should probably be removed. This is a particularly large form for this artist and showcases his work very well. Theme is an Archer, Fisher (male), Fisher(Female), and Falconer. Klein used cobalt, sepia or manganese pencil on a white ground for most of his works and this item was executed in that manner.
