Item # 4655. An Austro Hungarian Belt ensemble including belt and cloak clasp. Commonly used by Noblemen and or Hussars. Dated before 1900. Material: Gilt Silver; garnets and opals. There are 10 large opals, 48 smaller opals, 40 garnets. All the metal sections are hallmarked (probably made in Vienna or Budapest). Size: the belt itself is 33" long with chain to size 39". The cloak clasp is 18" long in 2 sections. Worn with full regalia with sword and breast stars. Hungarian Nobles took their position seriously and state occasions demanded the finest attire they could afford. The Opals and Garnets are really quite striking in this ensemble. From a Hungarian family from Budapest. Excellent workmanship. Condition: without flaws. The photos are only to show the type of attire and how the belt and cloak clasp would be worn. They ARE NOT included with the belt and clasp. Price: $5,000.00.
