# 320. A floor vase from the Zsolnay Factory. Form number 5902 dating it 1900. In 1900 the factory released the most number of art forms in its history. This important vase was designed by Lajos Mack. Size: 28.25" tall (67.7 cm) foot diameter 24.5 cm and mouth diameter 13.3 cm. Original design in the Zsolnay factory form book No. 9; drawing No. 5902. Identical vases published in catalogues, books, etc. and shown in many exhibitions including in a exhibition at BARD College in New York City. Background glaze: purple faintly dully metallic with in relief three figures (pan and two women) in dull gold metallic glazes. The color separation is very good with the figures and trees show in contrast to the background. Condition: foot edge flake and under base leading into the body of the vase as shown in one of the detailed images and just above the base on opposite sides of the vase a scuff marks in the glaze. The symbolism represents 'Arcady' with its idyllic pastoral scene. The Faun (pan) figure playing its pipe representing a shepherd. Price 65,000.00.
