The Leopard Vase
# 228. Truly an exceptional Zsolnay Vase. A high style Art Deco example suitable to grace the top of a Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann Cabinet. Called The Leopard Vase. Pictured on page 156 of "Zsolnay Ceramics Collecting A Culture" and on page 122 of "Zsolnay Secession Ceramics" written by Eva Csenkey / examples from the Rudolf Schmutz Collection of Vienna, Austria (Plate # 149) Form by Lajos Mack and decor by Sandor Pillo Hidasy. Form number 8589 which dates it to 1912. Size: 10.75" tall. Condition: excellent. There are less than half a dozen of this form and decor known. Price on Request.
