# 141. A c. 1900 Zsolnay cachepot. The form is pictured on the cover of "Zsolnay Ungarische Jugendstilkeramik" published in 1986 as a catalogue for the Österreichisches Museum für angewandte Kunst, Wien. Pictured on page 91. This exact cachepot is pictured on page 138 of "Zsolnay Ceramics Collecting a Culture" published by Schiffer in 1998. Form number 5792. Size: 6" tall. Condition: it is our understanding that the inside of this cachepot was very crazed with interior line cracks and there was exterior restoration to the foot area of one or more of the lower sections where the vines join the base: they have been repaired plus the previous owner had the inside painted to stabilize the cracks. There are minor scuffs to the exterior glaze consistent with use and age. This is a rare Art Nouveau (Secession) form. The dull blue Eosin glaze of the body is set off by the faintly metallic gold and liliac Eosin raised leaves and vines. P.O.R.

The green interior paint.
